The stats

Our sweet little Carson!

Although I'm a month behind, I thought I would share Carson's 9 month stats...

very strong, very long, and very many teeth

No, really...
22 pounds
30 inches
8 teeth

Carson LOVES table food and will eat anything he can get his hands on. He is crawling everywhere, cruising around the furniture and will probably be walking very soon. He adores his big sister and will do whatever it takes to get to her. He says, "Mama and Dada." We stand amazed at what a blessing he is and how fast he grows and changes.
Oh, and the most important chracteristics--

Wild and fun!

Sensitive and chatty,

Cute and smiley.

The word "thanks" isn't enough

Drumroll please...........

all the receipts have been counted and we have a total for our 1st annual :) A Night for Hearts. Thanks to everyone who supported the cause and opened their hearts we were blessed to raise $15,000 in one evening! Yes, that's right! We are speechless, shocked, and excited about the possibilities. It was a perfect evening in which we able to share our love for Wyatt with family and friends. His "special" heart certainly brings out a special side in all of you.

We will keep you updated about future fundraisers and the plans for the park and playground as they unfold. Please keep this project in your prayers as it comes with a big price tag and we know it will take several years until we see the fruits of our labor.

Thank you again to all who donated, attended, and prayed for this event.
Heart hugs, The Adkins Family

A Night for Hearts

Need plans for Valentine’s Day? Not wanting to wait in line at a restaurant? Wanting to celebrate with live music, a wonderful meal with friends, door prizes, and awesome silent auction items? There are still seats available...

Anyone is welcome to attend A Night for Hearts in honor of Wyatt, the event is on Saturday, February 13th beginning at 6pm at The Longaberger Golf Club. The cost is $40 a person and the details are included below. Please note the deadline for payment and to reserve a seat has been extended to Monday, February 8th.

Details of the Event…

Dear Friends and Family,

As many of you know, our son Wyatt was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, essentially half a heart, and underwent numerous hospitalizations, procedures, and surgeries before joining Christ at six months old. The time that we were able to spend with him has impacted our lives tremendously and it is our hope to allow his spirit to live on by giving to others in his honor. The ScrapPacks Ministry presents heart families with a package of materials where they can construct a display for their child. Over 350 ScrapPacks have been delivered to Nationwide Children’s Hospital to date. The next project we have begun in honor of Wyatt is the construction of a local playground. A Night for Hearts is the first of many fundraisers to raise money to begin the project.

A Night for Hearts is a silent auction and dinner benefit.

Dinner Menu:
Rolls & Butter
Longaberger House Salad with House Dressing
Duet of Pork & Chicken
Chef’s Choice of Starch and Vegetable
Cheesecake for Dessert
Water, Coffee, Ice Tea

Silent auction:
A variety of gift baskets and items will be featured in a silent auction. So far we are featuring: tools, rounds of golf from Longaberger, a signed football from Archie Griffin, a tea basket, a car wash basket, handmade notecards, gift certificates, garden items, a scrapbook basket, a Lake Erie fishing trip, a week long stay in northern Michigan, and the items go on. Cash and check payments will be accepted. Donations are welcome.

Missing you baby

Just wanted you to know that not a day goes by that we don't miss you. We long to hold you, to tickle you, to snuggle with you, to buy you presents, to play with you, to put you to bed...we trust that someday soon these desires will be fulfilled. You will not be forgotten sweet babe. 5 stockings hung on the mantle this Christmas and we talk about you all the time with your brother and sister; you are still very much a part of our family. You are so special to us and have changed our lives. We love you Wyatt.

From head to toe-

...we are totally in love with you, Carson. Six months ago you were born and we held you in our arms thanking God for the blessing of new life. For the rest of our lives, we hold you in our hearts.

Trick or Treat

Here's the trick...can you guess which baby is who? Below are all three of our precious children between 5-6 months. I'll share the answers in the next post.

Now for the treating--
Before we get to the costumes, I have to say--it is impossible to believe that Carson will be 5 months old on November 3rd. He loves to eat, rolls over, grabs his feet, and makes all types of noises. He adores his sister! We love you baby!
Carson's 1st Halloween...the only one where his parents can pick the costume. Cute, cute, cute. I know I'm biased, but one more time--cute!

Ah, the sweetest witch you'll ever meet. Thanks to MeMe, this costume is homemade.
The treaters are exhausted from the week's festivities.
