From head to toe-

...we are totally in love with you, Carson. Six months ago you were born and we held you in our arms thanking God for the blessing of new life. For the rest of our lives, we hold you in our hearts.

Trick or Treat

Here's the trick...can you guess which baby is who? Below are all three of our precious children between 5-6 months. I'll share the answers in the next post.

Now for the treating--
Before we get to the costumes, I have to say--it is impossible to believe that Carson will be 5 months old on November 3rd. He loves to eat, rolls over, grabs his feet, and makes all types of noises. He adores his sister! We love you baby!
Carson's 1st Halloween...the only one where his parents can pick the costume. Cute, cute, cute. I know I'm biased, but one more time--cute!

Ah, the sweetest witch you'll ever meet. Thanks to MeMe, this costume is homemade.
The treaters are exhausted from the week's festivities.

I wouldn't recommend

letting your daughter, or son, borrow your lipstick while you are driving. And I really would not recommend snapping a photo of the event while driving down the highway laughing hysterically. No, I would never do that just to capture the moment.

Although this messy application might have been therapuetic for my umm... shall we say somewhat OCD daughter. Now don't misunderstand me, I wouldn't change her for anything. But staying in the lines, perfect piles, and creating categories are some of her favorite hobbies. Take exhibit A below where she packed some items to organize outside for a "camping" expedition.
Nothing out of place and nothing forgotten-thatta girl!

Happy Birthday dear Mason, Happy Birthday to you! It's your party and you can cry if you want to. I can't believe you are 2 years old

An apple a day...

keeps Mason coming back for more.

Cousin Mason joined Audrey and her Thursday School class today at the Granville Apple Orchard.

They each filled a bag full of apples after careful inspection.

Late that afternoon, Audrey made Pineapple-Upside Down Cakes for her grandma DeDe's birthday! She loves to cook with Mommy.
Yummy!

Tidbits

"Excuse me--
Mr. Duck, have you seen

how I can hold my head up?"

At The Works gluing candy corn onto a frame. Gotta love the seasonal crafts.

Audrey started her first ballet class this week. After we got all the necessities she said, "But mom, now I just need a wand."

While she dreams of pink tutus, twirls, and pirouettes...
Her parents dream...
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder,
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger,
May you never take one single breath for granted,
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed,
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean,
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.
I hope you dance....I hope you dance.
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance,
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Livin' might mean takin' chances, but they're worth takin',
Lovin' might be a mistake but it's worth makin',
Don't let some hell bent heart leave you bitter,
When you come close to sellin' out reconsider,
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.
I hope you dance....I hope you dance.
I hope you dance....I hope you dance.
Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along,
Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder where those years have gone.

Alarm clocks, HELP! and sweet memories

Forget alarm clocks when you can wake up to this. Audrey quickly snuggled into bed with Carson this morning and proceeded to love all over her little brother. Can they just stay little forever? please?

HELP! This is NOT my 3 month old playing in an exersauser. This is not possible. Slow down time. please!

This picture of Audrey & Carson surely brings back sweet memories of...

this picture of Audrey & Wyatt... and for that I say "please and thank you."

Celebrations

This reminds me...

Of this...

~Psalms 23:1-6~
The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Amen.

Happy 3 month birthday Carson! You are such a blessing to our family.

Picnic at the Park

Yesterday we enjoyed an outing with cousin Mason, MeMe and PaPa. The kids had a wonderful time at the Rotary Park.

Soaking up the last days of summer.

Abra-ca-dabra

Audrey enjoys pretending that she can perform magic tricks.

Audrey: "Mom, watch this ball! I am going to disappear it!"

Me: "Ok hon, I'm watching closely."

Audrey: "Abracadabra!" (now she throws the ball as hard as she can behind a chair as I quickly grab the camera because I know what she will say next has got to be funny and her facial expressions are always priceless)

Audrey: "I dunno where the ball went, do you?"

The first of many

Well its official. Today I started a family blog. I had always been hesitant to open up our lives to the world, but every day I find more reasons to start sharing the story of our family. Our kiddos are growing and changing so rapidly that I can hardly believe my eyes most days. Audrey says the funniest things and Carson is growing at lightening fast speed. I want to record these milestones and capture their childhood. Also, I have been told that I can have the blog printed and published into a book. What an amazing gift for children, right?

So here is some proof above. The picture on the top is Carson 3 days old and the one on the bottom is Carson 2 months old. Where does the time go? I know, I know...feedings, diaper changes, baths, rocking, walking, holding, loving, and gazing into the eyes of your sweet little new bundle.

Today is a perfect weather day, and I mean perfect. As I write, the windows in the office are wide open and the most wonderful 70 degree breeze blows through the entire house. A reminder that fall is on the way and the turn of seasons is upon us. Speaking of change of seasons, I purchased some fall clothes for Audrey today as I'm afraid her former fall/winter pants will all be capris on her this year. Man this girl is tall!

adorable, animated, and our #1 girl!
